The Catholicos of All Armenians, Karekin II, issued a congratulatory message in connection with Victory and Peace Day and the 21st anniversary of the liberation of the City of Shushi, Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (Artsakh).  

“Our courageous people likewise participated in and greatly contributed to the crafting of the great victory [in World War II], which became a spiritual source for our children who liberated Shushi and took part in the Artsakh war.       

“The Armenian nation marks the festivities of Peace and Victory and the liberation of Shushi with a great glory of security and a festive delight. The liberation of Shushi and Artsakh, which was achieved by the heroic struggle of our courageous children, opened a chapter of new victories, of a new life,” the Catholicos’ message reads in particular.
