YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Minister of Defense, Seyran Ohanyan, did not rule out the taking of preventive measures.

Speaking with news reporters Thursday in capital city Yerevan’s Victory Park, and responding to a query as to whether preventive measures can be taken if news is received about an attack being prepared, Ohanyan said as follows:

“Nothing can be ruled out, since a variety of events are envisioned, in the process of border protection and the involvement of the armed forces, which are aimed at protection and attack prevention.”

Following the placing of flowers to the Memorial of the Unknown Soldier and observing a minute of silence at Victory Park, the national anthems of Armenia and the Russian Federation (RF) were performed. Next, the RF Armed Forces’ border guards in Armenia and the Armenian honor guards carried out a military parade.

Representatives from the foreign embassies in Armenia were on hand at the event.
