YEREVAN. – Armenia’s Rescue Service received a call, on Thursday at 12:07pm, informing that an accident had occurred, nearby the bridge of Charentsavan city in Kotayk Region, and that there were injured people and rescuers were needed.

A fire and rescue squad was dispatched to the scene, the Rescue Service informs.  

It was found out that a VAZ 2121-model vehicle had crashed into a VAZ 2101-model automobile, which was parked on a bridge on the Yerevan-Sevan Highway.

Prior to the fire and rescue squad’s arrival on the scene, however, the injured persons inside the VAZ 2101—namely, V. Simonyan, 56, Lida Petrosyan, 46, and Taguhi Khachatryan, 41—and the injured person inside the VAZ 2121—A. Melkumyan, 35—were taken to Charentsavan Medical Center.

The fire and rescue squad stopped the natural gas leakage and cut the power of the vehicles. 

According to physicians, Melkumyan is in severe but average, whereas the others are in satisfactory condition.
