YEREVAN. – The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) has not yet made a decision on whether or not it will assume its seats in the capital city Yerevan Council of Elders.

PAP Press Secretary Tigran Urikhanyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am that he will inform once a decision is made.

But he did not provide any details concerning what phase the respective discussions are, which is the more likely option, and exactly when a decision will be made regarding this matter.

As Armenian News-NEWS.am informed earlier, Armenian Central Electoral Commission (CEC) on Sunday summed up the final results of the Yerevan Council of Elders election that was held on May 5.

As a result, CEC adopted a decision on the election of the council members, and in line with this decision, the council members are as follows:

Ruling Republican Party of Armenia, with 42 seats; non-pro-government Prosperous Armenia Party, with 17 seats; and opposition Heritage Party-led “Barev [Hello], Yerevan” bloc, with 6 seats.

The aforesaid decision also states that the voting irregularities, which had taken place, could not have impacted the outcome of the election.
