YEREVAN. – Welcoming Belarus President Alexander Lukashenko, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan noted that he and his Belarusian counterpart meet on regular basis.
In Sargsyan’s words, these meetings enable to discuss and resolve, in a working mode, the problems that exist in Armenian-Belarusian cooperation.
At the same time, the Armenian President considered mutual visits as the main impetus for progress.
“Alexander Lukashenko is always a wanted guest in Armenia,” Sargsyan added.
He also recalled that next month Armenia and Belarus will mark the 20th anniversary of their diplomatic relations.
The Armenian President noted that during their talk he and his Belarusian counterpart discussed a variety of matters.
Along the lines of the Belarus delegation’s visit to Armenia, agreements and memorandums were signed with respect to the protection of the rights of national minorities, collaboration in nuclear safety, agricultural cooperation, and concerning several other domains.
