YEREVAN. – The Armenian Defense Minister’s press secretary, Artsrun Hovhannisyan, commented on the issues raised by the Karabakh War veterans that are on a sit-in at capital city Yerevan’s Liberty Square. 

These matters are at the focus of the Ministry of Defense, and when petitioning to the Government each year, the question of reviews is always raised, Hovhannisyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am. 

He informed that, upon the instruction of the Defense Minister, the head of the social department visited these war veterans twice and discussed the problems they have raised and the avenues for solving them.

The press secretary also stated that if the Government addresses the veterans’ letter to the MOD, they will be ready to provide them assistance.

“If [the Government] forwards [us] their petition, the reply will be [made] within the specified period of time,” Artsrun Hovhannisyan noted.
