YEREVAN. – There is no obstacle standing in the way of opening a party named Armenian National Movement.
Opposition Armenian National Movement (ANM) Board former member Hovhannes Igityan stated the aforesaid during a press conference on Thursday. He added that ANM does not fit in the format of the opposition Armenian National Congress (ANC) Party.
As per Igityan, the ANC bloc was formed for the elections and the post-election processes, whereas ANM’s ideology is completely different.
“One should not think that we are founding the [ANM] party just to have the phrase of ANM,” Igityan said.
He noted that the new ANM will work in a collegial approach.
“You cannot give up the past, even if we accept that we also have dark chapters and shortfalls. A new [political] party should have been created, and it should have been seen to it that the former ANM members would not have rebelled,” Hovhannes Igityan noted.
