YEREVAN. – Prosperous Armenian Party (PAP) leader, [businessman] Gagik Tsarukyan follows the example of Friedrich Engels.

Marxist Party of Armenia leader Davit Hakobyan stated the above-said during a press conference on Thursday, commenting on Tsarukyan’s recent statement that PAP cannot become an opposition.

“Tsarukyan follows Friedrich Engels’ law on entrepreneurial capital,” Hakobyan noted.

Speaking about the results of the recent capital city Yerevan Council of Elders election, he argued that, “the mini-parliament elections showed that the right to vote is very imperfect and scholastic in Armenia.”

As per the Marxist Party leader, the right to vote needs radical reforms in the country, and the low voter turnout shows the contempt toward elections.

“The society is in deep crisis, and I do not think that it [i.e., the election] would have been of great significance for it. The Council of Elders will not develop a new strategy for Yerevan,” Davit Hakobyan concluded.
