YEREVAN. – An exhibition devoted to Armenia officially opened Thursday at the foyer of the sessions’ hall of the Committee of Ministers of the Council of Europe (CoE).

The event is titled “Armenia: The Secret of Stones,” Armenian MFA press service informs.  

“Armenia is a country with high mountains, and it is natural that for us the stone is the first artistic means of expression, which has turned into a language of art. If it is this art whereby the Armenian people were able to express their creative spirit, then it is first of all, through architecture. 

“It has developed in a unique way over the centuries, becoming an integral part of world culture. And, by way of this exhibition, we are happy to introduce it within the framework of our chairmanship in the Council of Europe,” Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian specifically stated in his remarks at the official opening of the exhibition. 

To note, Armenia on Thursday assumed chairmanship of the CoE Committee of Ministers.
