Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian participated in the work of the meeting of Visegrad Group and Eastern Partnership foreign ministers held in Krakow on Friday.

EU High Representative of the Union for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy Catherine Ashton, Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy Štefan Füle, foreign ministers of Poland, Czech Republic, Slovakia, Hungary, Lithuania, Moldova, Ukraine, Georgia, Azerbaijan, deputy FM of Belarus and Irish Minister on European affairs participated in the meeting.

The officials discussed results achieved within the framework of the Eastern Partnership project, implementation of the road map, cooperation prospects and moves to be taken ahead of the Vilnius Summit.  In this context, EU representatives noted Armenia’s progress in talks.

In his address, Armenian FM said that Eastern Partnership project is an effective mechanism of strengthening relations with the EU and this has changed the quality and character of relationship between the EU and Armenia.

The agenda of talks includes human rights, institutional reforms, economy, political dialogue, justice and migration. The Minister briefed his counterparts on Association Agreement talks and free trade area agreement.

“Armenia has registered progress in all areas of the Eastern Partnership road map,” he said.
