YEREVAN. – Armenia’s illegitimate authorities, who stole the election yet again, have nothing to do with the law, accountability, and ethics.

Opposition Heritage Party Chairman, ex-presidential candidate, former FM Raffi Hovannisian stated the aforesaid during a citizens’ assembly on Sunday.

“Today, the authorities should come to understand that there is a direct link between [the presidential election on] February 18 and the ongoing emigration [from Armenia]. If we had had de jure-elected authorities today, people would not have been compelled to leave,” Hovannisian added.

The opposition party leader, however, noted that he is not prepared to shoulder the responsibility on his own, and that a consolidation is needed.

“The authorities should take the people, bringing all our pains and demands. We shall start taking steps forthwith. We shall give an organized force to our civic and national movement. The struggle shall be consistent, and there will be triumph. And, for this, we must have devoted, committed citizens,” he stated.

Raffi Hovannisian also noted that a large gathering will be held this fall, but, before that, they will carry out activities on a daily basis.
