YEREVAN. – The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) spokesperson provided a clarification to the recent statement by opposition Heritage Party Chairman, ex-presidential candidate, former FM Raffi Hovannisian.
To note, in an interview with RFE/RL Armenian service, Hovannisian had stated that in his meetings with PAP Chairman Gagik Tsarukyan, the latter had ruled out that he would ever go against the current authorities.
“I formally inform that these references are incomplete and incorrect; the substance of the talk is distorted. As for the norms of political and human ethics, Raffi Hovannisian did not have any moral right to violate the principle of a closed meeting and to offer incomplete information [that is] out of context.
Nonetheless, we asses this as an emotional inaccuracy that is made on the spur of the moment. Otherwise, we do not rule out disclosing the complete recording of the private talk. [And,] as a result, Raffi Hovannisian himself will have to answer to the questions by his supporters,” PAP spokesperson Tigran Urikhanyan’s clarification reads, in particular.
