YEREVAN. – Armenia’s economic activity index grew by 7.4 percent from January to April 2013, as compared with the same time period last year, the National Statistical Service informs.

As compared to January-April 2012, this year’s industrial growth constituted 12.6 percent and the agricultural growth was 2.4 percent. The volume of construction, however, dropped by 5.2 percent, whereas the service sector again recorded a dynamic growth, with 7.2 percent. 

The trade turnover in April slightly exceeded the respective indicators of the previous months.   

Between January and April 2013, the production of electricity dropped by 0.7 percent, as compared to the same time period last year.  

The average monthly salary in Armenia constituted AMD 142,700 (approx. $342) in April 2013 thereby surpassing the April 2012 indicator by 2.5 percent.
