YEREVAN. – Along the lines of his official visit to the United Kingdom, Armenian Foreign Minister Edward Nalbandian on Monday held talks in the British Parliament.  

Nalbandian met with Baroness Frances D’Souza, the Lord Speaker of the British House of Lords, the Armenian MFA press service informs. British-Armenian Parliamentary Friendship Group Chairwoman, Baroness Caroline Cox, likewise attended the talk.

The interlocutors reflected on the Armenian-British parliamentary cooperation and noted that these ties have grown. At the request of the Lord Speaker of the British House of Lords, Nalbandian presented Armenia’s foreign policy priorities and the Armenian diaspora’s role in Armenia’s development.

In London, Edward Nalbandian also visited the European Bank for Reconstruction and Development (EBRD), where he met with the EBRD senior officials. They reflected on Armenia’s ongoing economic reforms, investment domain, and business climate.      

Armenian FM’s talk with Robert Walter, the head of the British delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Council of Europe (PACE), was devoted to the priorities and programs of Armenia’s chairmanship in the Council of Europe.

In the British Parliament, Edward Nalbandian also met with several British MPs that are members in the parliamentary friendship group with Armenia. He briefed them on the efforts by Armenia and the international community toward a settlement to the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.
