YEREVAN. – The Armenian National Assembly (NA) on Wednesday rejected—with a vote of 41 for, 66 against, and one abstention—the opposition Heritage Party’s proposal to make an amendment to the Electoral Code.
To note, the aforesaid proposal suggests the hanging—at the election precincts and within two days following an election—of the lists of those that have voted.
All oppositional factions in the NA plus the non-pro-government Prosperous Armenia Party faction voted in favor of this proposal, but it did not pass because of the greater number of votes which the ruling factions cast against this proposal.
