YEREVAN. – Applying agricultural insurance is not yet expedient in Armenia, Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan stated during Thursday’s Cabinet meeting.

Sargsyan came to such conclusion after his discussions with the heads and farmers of the Armavir Region communities that suffered losses to their crops as a result of the recent hailstorm.

In case of insurance, the farmers must make monthly payments, but they do not have such finances. In addition, insurance is expensive and it will be effective if it is implemented throughout the country.
