YEREVAN. – Regular session of the Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs of the CSTO member countries was convened Monday in the Kyrgyz capital, Bishkek.  

Armenia’s FM Edward Nalbandian likewise attended the event, Armenian MFA press service informs.

During the session, the participants approved a draft statement on current international matters. The statement also reflects on the pacific settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict.

“The CSTO member countries stress the importance of the rapid completion of the activities around the fundamental precepts for the settlement of the Nagorno-Karabakh conflict,” the statement reads, in particular. 

Subsequently, Nalbandian, and Armenia’s Defense Minister Seyran Ohanyan and National Security Council Secretary Arthur Baghdasaryan attended the joint session of the CSTO Council of the Ministers of Foreign Affairs, Council of the Ministers of Defense, and Committee of the Security Council Secretaries. The participants discussed the avenues for improving the mechanisms for the CSTO states’ reaction to security threats.
