YEREVAN. – Armenian capital city Yerevan Mayor Taron Margaryan on Monday visited Ashnak village of Aragatsotn Region, to attend the event devoted to the remembrance day of Gevorg Chavush, a hero of the national liberation struggle of the Armenian nation.

Hundreds come to Ashnak every year to pay tribute to Gevorg Chavush and to attend the commemoration ceremony for all those fighters who, just like Gevorg Chavush, have sacrificed their lives for the salvation of the homeland and their nation, the Yerevan Municipality Information and Public Relations Department informs.  

Margaryan placed flowers to the memorial of the Ashnak fighters that fell in the Karabakh War, and subsequently visited the Gevorg Chavush Museum and placed flowers to the tomb of Gevorg Melkonyan, the nephew of Gevorg Chavush.  

In addition, a huge concert was held in Ashnak village.
