YEREVAN. – Armenian Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan received a delegation led by Štefan Füle, European Commissioner for Enlargement and European Neighbourhood Policy.
Sargsyan noted that extensive work has been done to develop Armenia-European Union (EU) relations, the Government press service informs.
The interlocutors stressed the progress that is achieved in the negotiations with respect to the Armenia-EU Association Agreement and the Armenia-EU Deep and Comprehensive Free Trade Area agreement.
“We have passed quite long road together,” Füle noted. As an important milestone in the development of relations, he pointed to the EU Eastern Partnership summit to be held in Vilnius, Lithuania, in November. As per the European Commissioner, this event will enable to raise EU relations with the Eastern Partnership countries to a new level.
In his turn, Armenia’s PM highly appreciated the EU financial and technical support to Armenia’s ongoing reforms, and he underscored the need to continue this assistance.
Füle assured that EU will continue to provide financial assistance to Armenia. In this context, he specifically noted the chances of allocating additional funds.
