YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan arrived on an official visit to Moldova on Thursday.
Prior to the Eastern Partnership summit of European People’s Party (EPP) leaders, he met with Moldova’s President Nicolae Timofti. The sides discussed intensification of Armenia-Moldova dialogue, economic and trade relations, wide range of issues related to development of cooperation in different sectors.
President Sargsyan noted that countries had not fully used potential for strengthening and development of relations and it is necessary to fill in the gap by active work, frequent mutual visits and meetings at different levels. Serzh Sargsyan also underscored necessity of close cooperation in the framework of international agencies.
Armenian and Moldovan presidents signed agreements on cooperation between culture and agriculture ministries of two states.
On the same day, President Sargsyan met with Moldovan Prime Minister Iurie Leanca to discuss mutually beneficial cooperation in various areas. The sides stressed the role of inter-governmental commission on economic cooperation.
