YEREVAN. – Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan on Monday received OSCE Chairperson-in-Office Leonid Kozhara.
Welcoming the guest and congratulating Ukraine on assuming chairmanship of the OSCE, President Sargsyan expressed confidence that the government of Ukraine, and Leonid Kozharan personally, will carry out the mission successfully.
Serzh Sargsyan hailed the visit of the delegation headed by the OSCE Chairperson-in-Office which is showing Ukrainian chairmanship’s attention towards the South Caucasus. President noted that Armenia attaches importance to cooperation within the framework of the OSCE.
He underscored organization’s huge role in the Eurasian region and in particular in strengthening of security and stability in the South Caucasus. Armenian leader praised the OSCE’s contribution to human rights and democratic development.
During the meeting both sides expressed their full support for the Minsk Group’s mission aimed at implementing possible measures in order to ease tensions. They discussed recent developments in the Karabakh peace process and touched upon the issues of international agreements on arms control.
