Conflict resolution is the focus of the OSCE Security Day to be held at the Hofburg in Vienna on September 16.
Ambassador Ihor Prokopchuk of Ukraine, Chairperson of the OSCE Permanent Council, and Lamberto Zannier, Secretary General of the OSCE, will open the meeting.
Dr. I. William Zartman, Professor Emeritus at the Paul H. Nitze of School of Advanced International Studies, Johns Hopkins University, will deliver a keynote speech.
This event is the fourth OSCE Security Day held this year. It will bring together experts from a range of different countries and specializations, looking at OSCE’s toolbox on conflict resolution and exploring new ideas on how the OSCE can even better contribute to bring about sustainable solutions to conflicts in its region.
The event will look in particular at the role of regional and multilateral organisations and ways to sustain and consolidate peaceful in the aftermath of violent conflict.
