YEREVAN. – Armenia’s European association dynamics is not affecting participation in the Bologna Process, Education Minister said.

Minister Ashotyan assured Armenia continues active participation in the EU educational projects, recalling that the Bologna Process is not a part of EU, but all European states.

The Minister of Education noted that Armenia has taken over the responsibility of hosting the Bologna Secretariat since July 1, 2012, which proves the political agenda is not affecting the Bologna Process.

Following the talks that were held on September 3 in Moscow between Armenian and Russian Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin, Sargsyan had announced that Armenia plans to join the Customs Union and subsequently engage in the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union.

In response the EU representatives said the decision may cast doubt on further economic integration with the EU. However, no statements referring to cooperation in the field of education have been made.
