The international community continues to raise an alarm concerning Azerbaijan’s enmity against Armenians.

Armenia’s Permanent Representative to United Nations (UN), Ambassador Garen Nazarian, noted the aforesaid while addressing a UN General Assembly committee session.

As case in point, the ambassador pointed to the fact that the Azerbaijani presidential candidates were accusing one another of having Armenian roots, and the Azerbaijani government uses education to encourage and spread hatred against Armenians.

Ambassador Nazarian also noted that such an enmity against Armenians can be equated with the most horrible examples in the history of racism.

Stating that hatred toward Armenians has long become a part of the Azerbaijani state propaganda machine, the Armenian ambassador to UN called upon the UN member states to condemn the growing intolerance and racism in Azerbaijan.

Garen Nazarian also reflected on the International Convention on the Elimination of All Forms of Racial Discrimination, and the steps Armenia has taken to fulfill its commitments stemming from other international documents on the prevention of this vice.
