As per Lamberto Zannier, Secretary General Organization for Security and Cooperation in Europe (OSCE), reaching an agreement on a talk between the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan is an important step.
Zannier told the aforesaid to ITAR-TASS news agency of Russia.
In his view, positive changes are taking place in the settlement process of the “frozen” conflicts that are under the OSCE responsibility.
“We are holding discussions with the parties to the [Nagorno-]Karabakh conflict. At present, we are working so that a meeting of the presidents of Armenia and Azerbaijan is held; I hope it will take place before the end of the year.
“The task of the OSCE is to assist in the parties’ intention to proceed along the road of political settlement and not to seek alternatives,” Lamberto Zannier stressed.
