YEREVAN. – Newly appointed Uruguay’s Ambassador to Armenia Anibal Cabral on Monday presented the copies of his credentials to President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan.

President Sargsyan congratulated Ambassador on his appointment expressing hope that he will give a new impetus to further deepening of bilateral relations.

Since Armenia gained independence, relations between the states have developed in many areas, President added.

Noting that Uruguay is a friendly state of Armenia, Serzh Sargsyan assured that the Armenian nation would never forget that Uruguay was the first state in the world to recognize Armenian Genocide in 1996.  

Ambassador Cabral spoke about his country’s respect toward Armenia and Armenian nation and country’s interest to expand cooperation and deepen relations between the states.
