YEREVAN. – Armenia has adopted a regulation on the use of the country’s national flag and coat of arms.

Introducing the respective draft regulation at Thursday’s Cabinet meeting, Minister of Culture Hasmik Poghosyan noted that the draft regulates the use of Armenia’s state symbols.   

Accordingly, the state symbols of Armenia will not be permitted to be used on the seals, stationaries, or other relevant items of non-state-run agencies.     

In addition, the colored and black & white versions of Armenia’s coat of arms and the color shade of the national flag are specified.

Furthermore, the materials to be used in order to make the flag and  the conditions for its resistance to weather conditions and water are listed.      

In turn Prime Minister Tigran Sargsyan noted that the reached decisions are important in terms of raising the youth’s respect toward state symbols.
