President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan, who is in the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR)—or Artsakh—on working visit, on Thursday visited a military unit stationed in the central direction of the NKR Defense Army.
Sargsyan was accompanied by NKR President Bako Sahakyan, and the defense ministers and senior military officers of the two Armenian republics.
The Armenian President spoke with the soldiers and officers of the military unit and, subsequently, he followed the demonstrative training of its reconnaissance team.
Next, the Armenian and NKR presidents laid a wreath to the monument to fallen soldiers that was built in the military unit.
After the official opening of the new military buildings at the unit, Sargsyan and Sahakyan followed the preparatory training of the personnel that is heading to military turn of duty, and they encouraged those that showed the best results.
The presidents of the two Armenian republics also visited a military unit stationed in the southern direction of the NKR Defense Army, where the new headquarters building was opened. Here the presidents followed the exercises of its military personnel.
With this visit, Armenian President Serzh Sargsyan’s three-day working visit to the NKR Defense Army military units and to the frontline came to an end.
Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Bako Sahakyan held a private talk, on Friday morning in NKR capital city Stepanakert. The talk was followed by an extended meeting between the Armenian delegation and the Artsakh government members.
