YEREVAN. – Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan on Saturday received Tsugio Makimoto, the Chairman of Semiconductor Industry Association, former CEO of the Hitachi.

Makimoto got Armenian president’s award for Global Contribution in area of IT for 2013.

Welcoming the guest, PM Sargsyan noted it is a great honor to receive such a person in Armenia.

“I am confident that your visit to Armenia was attentively followed by our society, especially by young people. This would promote growing interest in research in the field of information technologies,” Tigran Sargsyan said.

Tsugio Makimoto welcomed Armenian government’s attention to IT sector, expressing conviction that there are great prospects for development of IT sector in Armenia. He noted importance of cooperation between Armenia and Japanese companies.

In this context, the sides discussed prospects for strengthening bilateral ties and exchanged views on further development of IT sector in Armenia.
