Russian FM Sergey Lavrov said Moscow will actively support settlement of issues necessary for Armenia’s rapid accession to the Customs Union, RIA Novosti reported.

“We want to continue cooperation within OSCE, UN, and of course in post-Soviet area, within CIS and CSTO,” Russian Foreign Minister said after a meeting with Armenian FM Edward Nalbandian.

Following the talks that were held on September 3 in Moscow between Armenian and Russian Presidents Serzh Sargsyan and Vladimir Putin, Sargsyan had announced that Armenia plans to join the Customs Union and subsequently engage in the formation of the Eurasian Economic Union.
