YEREVAN. – The Armenian delegation may refuse to participate in the Istanbul meeting with the women’s delegation from Azerbaijan.

“Women’s Resource Center” NGO director Lara Aharonyan told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

To note, a talk among the representatives of Armenia, Nagorno-Karabakh, and Azerbaijan is slated from December 1 to 5 in Istanbul, Turkey.

But the Azerbaijani press informed that, according to Novella Jafaroglu, Chairperson of the Society for Protection of Women Rights named after Dilara Aliyev, the holding of this talk is now uncertain.

In a news article by APA news agency of Azerbaijan, the meeting of the representatives of “Azerbaijani and Armenian communities of Nagorno Karabakh” is noted. The Karabakh party, however, has repeatedly pointed to the inadmissibility of such a formulation.

In Lara Aharonyan’s words, they already have sent a request to the Azerbaijani party for a clarification as to who has made such a formulation.

“If this is the idea of the Azerbaijani associates, we will not attend the meeting. [But] if the [Azerbaijani] media have made such a formulation, we will discuss the matter,” she added.
