YEREVAN. – Armenian capital city Yerevan’s Kentron Police Department on Monday detained several activists. 

Armenia Today website coordinator, attorney Argishti Kiviryan told the aforesaid to Armenian News-NEWS.am.

According to preliminary data, Zaruhi Hovhannisyan, Olya Azatyan, Artur Petrosyan, and Babken Ter-Grigoryan have been detained. 

These activists had attempted to place posters, at a Downtown Yerevan  overpass, against Armenia’s decision to join the Customs Union.  

At present, the police officers are at the home of activist Ani Kaghinyan and are trying to enter her apartment.

Kiviryan added that he is heading to the Kentron Police Department, but as an attorney. 

In addition, “Civil Consciousness” NGO Director Narek Samsonyan likewise is detained. 

The abovementioned NGO is an organizer of a protest to be held Monday at Liberty Square.
