YEREVAN. – President of Armenia Serzh Sargsyan on Monday was on hand, in capital city Yerevan, at the official opening of the United Cross monument.

The monument symbolizes the friendship between the Armenian and the Russian peoples.  

The Armenian-Russian Intergovernmental Commission co-chairs—Armenian PM Tigran Sargsyan and Russian Transportation Minister Maksim Sokolov—opened the monument, informs the Press Office of the President.  

To note, a duplication of this monument was placed in Downtown Moscow in 1997, and on the occasion of Moscow’s 850th anniversary.
