YEREVAN. – The Armenian Presidential Palace, which is located on Baghramian Avenue in capital city Yerevan, is getting ready to welcome Russian President Vladimir Putin, who is in Armenia on a state visit on Monday.

The red carpet in front of the palace is already set, and a large number of police officers are patrolling Baghramian Avenue.  

The Armenian News-NEWS.am reporters, who are working from different parts of the capital city, inform that the activists, who had divided into different groups, are being detained from all roads leading to the Presidential Palace.     

The activists told one of our reporters that, at present, about 100 people are detained and taken to several police precincts.   

In addition, the public transport stops nearby the Presidential Palace are being cleared of commuters, and the Marshal Baghramian subway station, which is right across the palace, is closed off.
