A Ukrainian family named their newborn son Euromaidan in a tribute to the protest actions held in Kyiv.

The father, Yevgeny Tikhun who is a native of Lviv, spent much time participating in the protest actions in Kyiv, Komsomolskaya Pravda Ukraine reported.

“I am not paid at Euromaidan, I am standing there for an idea. If a boy wants to change his name, he will be free to do it. Our friends, relatives and neighbors supported us,” the man said.
