Five people, including a woman were arrested in Pakistan charged with planning terrorist attack in New York, NBC TV reports.

Earlier, U.S. citizen Faisal Shahzad (of Pakistani origin) confessed to planning a terrorist attack in Times Square, New York. The accused might be sentenced to life term, as is charged with terrorism and using a weapon of mass destruction. The overall punishment on the rest charges makes 60 years of imprisonment plus two life terms.

As reported earlier, terrorist attack in Times Square was prevented after a street-vendor informed police of the smoke from Nissan Pathfinder. Later experts found fireworks, petrol and propane gas tanks, as well as a bomb made from fertilizer in the vehicle.
