Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), or Artsakh, Prime Minister Ara Harutyunyan, together with Swiss-Armenian businessman Vartan Sirmakes, on Sunday paid a working visit to several enterprises in the Martakert Region.

At the Artsakh HPP (i.e., hydroelectric power plant), the activities by this first Armenian open joint stock company were presented.

Harutyunyan and Sirmakes also visited the Drmbon mine, where they followed the production process. The NKR PM highly praised this sector’s role in Artsakh’s economic development.

Subsequently, they paid a visit to the border village of Mataghis, where the construction of a black caviar production infrastructure has begun with funding by the Swiss-Armenian businessman. The first caviars will soon be produced at the fish farm which is under construction. According to the plan, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic will become a major exporter of this food in the coming years.
