YEREVAN. – The Prosperous Armenia Party (PAP) is okay with the country’s accession to the Eurasian Economic Union (EEU).
Non-pro-government PAP National Assembly Faction member Stepan Margaryan stated the abovementioned at a press conference on Wednesday.
“We [, the PAP,] support any integration process which Armenia can join. We [, Armenia,] were isolated and it was perilous to stay in that situation.
“We [, the PAP,] support the EEU as an integration process. The question here is how will our authorities make use [of this process] and what impact will this process have on Armenia,” the PAP MP noted.
Armenia signed, on October 10 in the Belarusian capital city of Minsk, the treaty on accession to the EEU, whose founding members are Russia, Belarus, and Kazakhstan. Armenia is slated to become a Eurasian Economic Union member on January 1, 2015.
