YEREVAN. – Contacts between different integration unions are very important, Uruguay Vice President Danilo Astori said during a joint press conference with Armenian parliament speaker Galust Sahakyan.

Asked whether integration in international unions is beneficial given Uruguay's membership in MERCOSUR, Astori said integration is very important for his country.

The Uruguayan official said he had discussed contacts with the Eurasian Economic Union in Moscow and Saint Petersburg during his latest working visit to Russia.

“Uruguay's newly formed cabinet that will start its work on March 1, 2015 is preparing a number of important agreements on cooperation of MERCOSUR with other integration unions. Such unions must be flexible and seek ways of cooperation with each other,” he added.
