YEREVAN. – The medium-term inflation rate from depreciation of the Armenian dram will not exceed 1.5-2 percent, CBA Chairman Arthur Javadyan told reporters.
According to him, during the year the impact of fluctuations in inflation will be neutralized.
The Central Bank pursues a balanced policy of control over inflation to keep it within the target corridor of 4 +/- 1.5 percent at the end and 2014 and 2015, Javadyan added.
He noted that Central Bank will support responsible authorities in monitoring violations of the commodity markets.
“Unreasonable price increase, as well as false rumors about price hike will be punished strictly,” he added.
