YEREVAN. – The most recent frequent fluctuations in the currency exchange rates in Armenia have resulted in trade uncertainty.
The President of the Union of Manufacturers and Businessmen of Armenia (UMBA), Arsen Ghazaryan, stated the abovementioned at a press conference on Thursday.
He noted that, as a result of these fluctuations, the commercial entities in the country do not know at what prices to buy, so as not to have losses, the imported goods that were purchased with the former exchange rate.
“Naturally, the fall in the exchange rate [of the Armenian national currency, the dram,] has risks of huge losses, for which the importers [of Armenia] are not ready,” the UMBA boss added.
But Ghazaryan expressed the hope that the market itself will regulate this situation.
