YEREVAN. – There can be no positive movement in Karabakh peace process since there is no confidence between the parties, member of the opposition ANC party Vladimir Karapetyan told Armenian News-NEWS.am.

“Speaking about confidence, I mean possibility and readiness to implement the arrangements that have been reached. In case of Azerbaijan there is no confidence that the arrangement will be carried out, and this was proved for many occasions. In case of Armenia, the problem is lack of possibility. Serzh Sargsyan has no control of the situation in Armenia to present public his approaches and perception of the Karabakh settlement under mutual concessions,” Karapetyan said.

The opposition representatives noted that the president did not even manage to carry out constitutional reforms.

“In such circumstances, he cannot be engaged in a serious process. The adversary and the mediators realize this. And because of it, they are not making every effort to promote the process. Significant changes are not expected in the near future, although the Armenian Foreign Ministry will try to create the illusion of teeming activity,” he added.
