YEREVAN. – No one has the right to deny fundamental human rights.

The first Human Rights Defender of Armenia, “Against Legal Arbitrariness” NGO Executive Director, and public activist Larisa Alaverdyan stated the abovementioned at a press conference on Saturday. She noted this commenting on the ongoing demonstrations at Baghramyan Avenue in capital city Yerevan.

“The youth [protesting there] have made a specific demand: not to raise the price of electricity [in the country]. The people are fighting for their honor and dignity.

“Those that have seen the faces of those demonstrators will understand what I’m talking about. Dignity is one of the first words you recall when seeing those faces and eyes,” stated Alaverdyan.
