YEREVAN. – A delegation headed by Deputy Speaker of the Armenian parliament Eduard Sharmazanov on Monday met with President of the Belarus House of Representatives Vladimir Andreychenko.
The parties discussed development of inter-parliamentary cooperation and noted importance of active work of inter-parliamentary commission as well as cooperation within the international platforms, CSTO and CIS.
Mr. Sharmazanov pushed for closer cooperation on key issues for the two countries in the international parliamentary platforms
Speaking about Karabakh settlement in the context of regional stability and security, the Armenian Deputy Speaker condemned military solution to the conflicts and unacceptable military rhetoric by Azerbaijan. For his part, Vladimir Andreychenko said Belarus supports exclusively peaceful resolution of the Karabakh conflict within the format of the OSCE Minsk Group.
Head of the Armenian delegation said this year is exceptional for the Armenian people as it marks the 70th anniversary of the Victory in the Great Patriotic War and the 100th anniversary of the Armenian Genocide. He emphasized the necessity of a united struggle against the Nazi ideology, fascism and xenophobia.
