In an interview with Milliyet, the wife of the Turkish PM Ahmet Davutoglu, Sare, Referred to Turkey’s stance on the Armenian Genocide.
Touching on the domestic and foreign policy run by her husband, Sare Davutoglu said that there are topics which the political forces must consider in terms of national interests, placing them above party interests.
In this context, Sare Davutoglu reminded of her husband’s statements on the Genocide: “Consequently, this government has tried to manifest a just approach. Besides, Mr. Ahmet has said that the Armenians abroad are also Turkish Diaspora.”
“But sadly, these kinds of approaches have become something of a bargaining chip in the hands of those who do not wish Turkey to prosper. Stereotypes are present,” she said.
