The Ministry of Foreign Affairs (MFA) of Russia has commented on Foreign Minister Sergei Lavrov’s blowing a kiss, and which was posted on the Internet on July 11.

Deputy director of the Information and Press Department of the MFA, Maria Zakharova, wrote on her Facebook account that the kiss was blown to Maite Nkoana-Mashabane, the South African Minister of International Relations and Cooperation, reported Gazeta.

“At the request of many users of social networks, I [hereby] reveal the secret of Sergei Lavrov’s blowing a kiss at the BRICS [i.e. Brazil, Russia, India, China, and South Africa] summit [in Russia],” wrote Zakharova. “It was addressed to his South African counterpart, Maite Nkoana-Mashabane.”
