YEREVAN. – Armenia has grown 73,000 tons of potatoes since the beginning of 2015.
The Deputy Minister of Agriculture, Samvel Galstyan, said the abovementioned at a press conference on Wednesday. He added that the potato fields in the country have increased by 970 hectares.
Galstyan noted that the farmers gather the potatoes and take them to the markets gradually, so as not to have a shortage of potatoes in the market until autumn, when the harvest collection begins in the traditionally potato producing regions of the country.
A total of 650 to 700 thousand tons of potatoes are annually grown in Armenia.
