YEREVAN. – The ruling Republican Party of Armenia (RPA) shall be in politics, noted RPA MP Lernik Aleksanyan, at a press conference on Friday.

Aleksanyan stated the aforementioned in response to the Armeian News-NEWS.am reporter’s query on how certain he is that the RPA will again form a stable majority in parliament.

“The system of governance is an ideological issue,” said the ruling party MP. “Formation of the electoral system is not yet established in Armenia, and this is a serious problem.”

The new draft constitution, as per Lernik Aleksanyan, will resolve the matter of political parties in the country. But if this does not happen, things will get worse in Armenia’s politics than they were during the semi-presidential system.

Chapters 1 through 7 of the new draft Constitution of Armenia were made public on Wednesday. Accordingly, the draft Constitution clearly indicates that the country will make a transition to a parliamentary system of governance.
