YEREVAN. – The Armenian parliamentarians invite their Korean counterparts to participate in “Parliamentarians Against Genocide” platform, MP Samvel Farmanyan said during a briefing following a meeting with Korean delegation of parliamentary friendship group.
He also thanked his Korean colleagues for visiting the Armenian Genocide Memorial in Yerevan.
“As you know, the initiative of the Armenian parliament to create such an international platform is designed to combine efforts so that such tragedies could never repeat,” said Farmanyan, Armenian co-chair of a parliamentary friendship group with Korea.
He expressed his gratitude to head of the Korean delegation Noh Young-min for raising awareness on the Armenian Genocide in South Korea, as well as efforts to condemn this crime against humanity.
"Every year on April 24 the parliament of South Korea hosts events, exhibitions thanks to the efforts of our embassy and our Korean partners. We are grateful to them for that,” he added.
He stressed that, despite the greater the distance between the two countries, but Yong Ming knows the history of the Armenian people. He is the author of an important work “Modern Tragedies”the first chapter of which is devoted to the Armenian Genocide.
