YEREVAN. – The Ministry of Territorial Administration and Emergency Situations of Armenia received a report on Saturday at 5:18am.
Accordingly, a traffic accident had occurred at the intersection leading to Zedea village in the Vayots Dzor Province, there were injured, and assistance was needed.
A fire and rescue squad as well as a provincial crisis management operative team were dispatched to the scene.
It was found out that an Opel Vectra—with driver B. Ch., 34—and a Nissan Maxima—with driver A. H., 35—had crashed on the Yerevan-Meghri motorway.
The fire and rescue workers removed the Opel’s driver from the vehicle and took the person to the waiting ambulance. B. Ch. was taken to a hospital, where it was said the person is in average critical condition.
The rescuers also removed from the Nissan—and with the help of special equipment—its driver, who was stuck in the vehicle and was unconscious.
A. H. was also taken to a hospital where, however, the person died without regaining consciousness.
Governor of the Vayots Dzor Province, Harutyun Sargsyan, also has arrived on the scene.
